Kāpiti Impact Trust (KIT) is a Charitable Trust actively involved in the Kāpiti Coast community since 2006.
We feel that we have an opportunity to be part of helping people of the Kapiti Coast community to thrive in life. We value a holistic approach to our work based on the Whare Tapa Wha model and want to work with our community to increase well-being for all. Our three strategic priorities are families, young people and working to build collaboration and effectiveness across Kapiti’s Community and Social Sector. We established Ngahina Family Centre, a community hub, in 2008. It is now known as Kāpiti Impact Hub and has expanded to involve 11 other community organisations as tenants and many others as regular users. The major Programmes that our trust facilitates are the Incredible Years Parenting Programme (a 14 week Ministry of Education programme) and Challenge for Change. Have a look around and if there's something that catches your interest, let us know. |
Our next Incredible Years Programme is starting in March 2024.
This Programme is targeted at children 3-7 years old and there is a waiting list. Please contact us here to find out more. Challenge for Change is an early intervention mentoring programme that works on a strengths based approach. Young people aged between 9 and 13 are matched with a mentor who acts as a positive role model.
The mentoring is supported by a parenting programme that runs for the whanau of the young person. We need Mentors - click here for more info |
